- Types of fonts

They are a lot of fonts like serif, sans serif, slab serif, and so on! Each of them has talents. Knowing their talents is the key to make good design. In this page, I’ll introduce types of Latin fonts and Japanese fonts.

- Latin fonts

Serif fonts

Serif fonts are fonts which have serif. Serif is a short flat line at the top or bottom of some fonts. Serif fonts suit to using in long text.
For example: Time New Roman, Century and Bodoni.

Sans serif fonts

Sans serif fonts are fonts which don’t have serif. (Sans serif means “without serif” in French!)
For example: Helvetica, Futura and Frutiger.

Slab serif fonts

Slab serif fonts are fonts which have big serif.
For example: Rockwell and Chunk Five.
